Blind source separation methods applied to evaluate harmonic contribution

چکیده
One of the greatest challenges found in power quality has been, and still is, establishing a reliable noninvasive method for quantifying harmonic contributions an electric utility consumer at point common coupling (PCC). This difficulty arises from fact that distortions measured on PCC are unidentifiable mixtures both parties. Currently, some work focused exploring use blind source separation (BSS) techniques to promote sharing responsibilities way. However, usage this methodology is very recent requires thorough evaluations, not only view BSS available literature, but also perspective electrical systems nature their loads. Thus, seeking contribute consolidation responsibilities, aimed investigate impact variation current sources accuracy methods. In addition, three algorithms suitable complex-valued signals were evaluated computationally experimentally; results obtained compared with based covariance characteristic random vectors, experimental was through invasive procedure.

Introduction to Blind Source Separation Methods
The blind source separation problem (BSS) consists in extracting uncorrelated sources from an observed linear mixture. The rationale behind BSS is to reconstruct correctly the waveform of the signals allowing arbitrariness of their sign, order and energy. Known closed-from solutions succeed by relying on specific assumptions about the source distributional form. For more complex signal, such as...
متن کاملContribution of statistical tests to sparseness-based blind source separation
We address the problem of blind source separation in the underdetermined mixture case. Two statistical tests are proposed to reduce the number of empirical parameters involved in standard sparsenessbased underdetermined blind source separation (UBSS) methods. The first test performs multisource selection of the suitable time-frequency points for source recovery and is full automatic. The second...
متن کاملBlind Source Separation Methods Applied to Muscle Artefacts Removing from Epileptic Eeg Recording: A Comparative Study
Electroencephalogram (EEG) recordings are often contaminated with muscle artifacts. These artifacts obscure the EEG and complicate its interpretation or even make the interpretation unfeasible. In this paper, realistic spike EEG signals are simulated from the activation of a 5 cm2 epileptic patch in the left superior temporal gyrus. Background activities and real muscle artifacts are then added...
متن کاملMultiuser processing using blind source separation methods
Multiuser Processing refers to a set of fundamental techniques for the improvement of the performances of the modern wireless communications systems. Most of these techniques have been proposed and studied for specific scenarios, according to the multiple access technology to be employed. The theory and methods of blind source separation (BSS) can provide a more general framework over which mul...
متن کاملRegularization Methods for Blind Deconvolution and Blind Source Separation Problems
This paper is devoted to blind deconvolution and blind separation problems. Blind deconvolution is the identiication of a point spread function and an input signal from an observation of their convolution. Blind source separation is the recovery of a vector of input signals from a vector of observed signals, which are mixed by a linear (unknown) operator. We show that both problems are paradigm...
